180 - The Weird & Wild World Of Professional Darts

Getting Journeyman Sports off the ground has been some of the most enjoyable work I’ve been able to do in my professional life. So far I’ve written blogs spanning five continents, dozens of sports, and hundreds of years of history.

As fun as it has been to be able to tell these stories, blog posts haven’t been the end goal. To really be able to get across the depth that these stories carry, I’ve always been planning on expanding to new mediums. So, here's the first jump:

I am very excited to announce that the first round of podcasts to be released by Journeyman Sports are soon to hit your ears! Most of these will be brand new stories, though a couple will dive back into the well of blog posts that have the heavy lifting for the site in the past six months.

First of all, I’m just happy I figured out how to make a polished podcast. We are a two-person team here, so a lot of work has gone into just proving our initial concept, which is the first episode that you see here. Consider it a pilot of sorts. Though shorter than the rest of the episodes will be, this first one will give you a decent idea of what to expect in the future.

So, up first: The story of professional darts and how the game went from seedy pubs to some of the biggest stages in Europe. It’s weird, it’s wild, and it might make your opinion on the game do a 180. Especially if you can throw a 180.

To listen right now, click play above and follow us on SoundCloud. Within the coming days, it will also be at your disposal on iTunes & Google Play. I will make sure to let you know as soon as those avenues are open so you like and subscribe.

Thanks for joining me on this adventure, everyone. You’re all so awesome.
